The Spork Evolved

Ramen Spork

Sporks have come a long way. This one is stainless steel and designed specifically for Ramen Eating. Necessity is the mother of invention after all.

Sporks have been around since the 19th century, but most people think of them as more a modern invention. I get mine from KFC but you can find them at many restaurants these days. One such restaurant is the Sugakiya ramen noodle restaurant in Japan, which started in the 1970’s.

Designer Masami Takahashi updated the design for their 60th anniversary. The Museum of Modern Art in New York liked the new design so much that you can now buy them at their gift shop for $28 a pair.
