My 1st Easter Bunny Cake

I had planed to post the first cake I had ever made, but someone had been bugging me (almost everyday) to post my most recent cake instead. Since I’m having a hard time finding pictures of my very first cake, here it is, the Easter bunny cake. I made this cake for our Easter lunch.

I got the basic pattern on how to cut & shape the cake from the Betty Crocker website, but I improvised it with eatable bunny ears instead of ears made of paper as instructed & added whiskers using uncooked spaghetti.

For the ears, I shaped rice crispy treats into bunny ears, iced them with pink & white frosting, & then covered the white part with shredded coconut.

For the eyes & nose, I used black & pink jelly beans. At first, I tried to put the eyes & nose horizontal & vertical, to see which way looked the best.

Finally, instead of jelly beans spread around the bunny, I used egg candies which were bigger & looked more like eggs.
